"Flyover" of the Ecocide in Icabarú - Santa Elena de Uairén Mining Sector

The Icabarú River, a tributary of the Caroní River, is located in Southern Venezuela on the border of Brazil and South of Canaima National Park, (Unesco) World Heritage Site. The Santa Elena de Uairén mining sector is located inside the purple line. The purple box is part of what the Maduro regime calls the Orinoco Mining Arc (Arco Minero del Orinoco) close to the national park and on the Icabarú River.

The purpose of SOSOrinoco is to shed light on the existing body of work regarding the situation in the Amazonia and Orinoquia regions of Venezuela, to raise awareness of the tragedy that is occurring and to outline some urgent measures that need to be taken in order to halt the unfolding human and environmental disaster.
